10 Important Wedding Details to Remember
Chances are you’ve organised your dress, your ceremony venue, and your guest list. While it’s easier to remember to book the big stuff, those little details can slip away on you. By hiring a wedding planner, you not only gain their experience and knowledge, but they’ll also be able to give you little reminders about the things that could have potentially been forgotten!
We’ve made a list of 10 wedding details (of the hundred or more!) that you will want to remember:
- Wedding party gifts. Remember to organise thank you gifts for your wedding party. Often these are a small piece of jewellery they can wear, or a gift card.
- Bad weather plan. You can’t control the weather, so make sure you have a backup plan for if it turns to custard. This goes for your photo locations, as well as ceremony and reception venues. Check with your vendor about what they can provide for you.
- Marriage licence. Its likely that your celebrant will check with you, but please organise your marriage licence well before your wedding day!
- Guest count. Remember to let your vendors know about not only the number of guests that are expected, but to also include both the bride and groom in that number too! You certainly won’t want to miss out on food, drink and even a seat! It can be a nice touch to organise refreshments for your photographer and other helpers on the day too.
- Thank you speech. The best man has his sorted, but are either of you going to give a short thank you speech to your guests? Nothing worse than an impromptu speech where you become tongue tied.
- Your must have photo list. You will keep your wedding photos forever. So make sure that you not only choose your photo shoot locations carefully, but also with whom you would like to be photographed with.
- Vendor contact details. A list of your wedding vendors with their contact details is very handy to keep close, as you can almost guarantee that when hunting for that email or phone number, that you won’t be able to find it.
- RSVP tracking strategy. Develop a way of keeping track of which guests have accepted and declined your invites. A spreadsheet on the PC or even a paper checklist would work.
- Wedding day emergency kit. It is always a good idea to create a small emergency kit containing a needle and thread, hairclips, tissues, lippy and sticking plasters for your maid of honour to carry for you.
- Gift table – remember to put out a gift table for guests to leave their gifts upon. This saves them having to carry them around and is a lovely way to display gifts for all to see.
