You may have thought about or created the perfect wedding day timeline, and all that is left is waiting for your big day. Or is it? No matter how much time and effort you’ve put into creating your wedding day schedule, things can always go wrong. Or be left out. What can you do to ensure everything runs as close to perfect as it can? Four words: hire a wedding planner.

Creating Your Perfect Wedding Day Timeline

When you are mapping out your wedding day schedule, there’s a lot to include and it’s super easy to forget something. Your timeline needs to clearly identify the times things will happen, including when it is time to get ready, for deliveries to occur and in which order things are to happen. Hiring a wedding planning to help you during the planning as well as on the day, ensures nothing gets forgotten, changes are easily made, and any issues are sorted without you needing to worry about anything!

Some of the key things to include in your timetable include:

  • Breakfast and showering
  • Photographer – where do they go first and what time do they arrive? How long do they have for each location or type of photo shoot? Do they have a list of where they need to be and for how long?
  • Hair and makeup – what time do they arrive and who should they do first? How long will they take?
  • Flowers – where are the flowers being stored? Who is delivering them? When will they arrive?
  • Transport – how long will it take to drive to the ceremony and venue locations? What about traffic hold ups? Do the cars need to be sent all at once, or staggered?
  • Decoration – what time will you get access to the ceremony and reception venues to decorate? How long will it take to decorate? Who is arranging the decoration deliveries and collections?
  • Ceremony – what time should guests arrive? What time do the groom and groomsmen need to be there? When is the bride arriving? How long is the ceremony?
  • Reception – how long will it take to get to the venue? What time are drinks, snacks and the meal organised for?
  • Speeches – when will this occur? How long will it take?
  • Cutting the cake and the first dance – when will this happen?
  • DJ or band – when will they start and finish?
  • Departure – when will the bride and groom leave? What time will the guests need to vacate the venue by?
