What a special, special day!

Claire & Andy’s Wedding

Claire and Andy contacted me very early on to help with all aspects of planning their big day. As close friends of the family, the pressure was on to help them organise the wedding the both were wanting.

Straight away they were an absolute delight to work with, nothing was a problem and our meetings were always fun. The brief for the wedding was simple, they wanted everyone to be comfortable and enjoy themselves all day. This was Claire and Andy to a tee! They are always putting other people first, I often had to remind them this was their day and they could do whatever they wanted.

Their guest list included friends and family from afar which we talked about often. They both wanted everybodies trips to work like clockwork with this in mind we spent time discussing how we could make this happen. I arranged options for accommodation, transport and with the help of Amanda from https://bemyguest.co.nz/ we made sure invites were ready to go with plenty of time to make additional holiday plans.

On the day

The ceremony was set in the Dunedin Botanic Gardens a beautiful setting, Under a big tree which covered everyone from the unpredictable Dunedin weather. Andy had a close friend perform the ceremony (Tom Gray) and The Flukes provided the beautiful music while Claire journeyed towards her husband to be. The sun came out and everyone enjoyed food and wine and chatted with the newly married couple.

Toitu Early Settlers Museum was the location for the wedding reception. A stunning venue which allows for a lot of flexibility especially when it comes to BYO.
The buffet was amazing! Tara and her staff were incredibly easy to work with. They truly do themselves proud at each and every event.

My favourite touch to the evening was there was no ‘head table’ they didn’t want to feel on display so we had them seated in the centre, surrounded by family and friends.

Having so many people they cared about in one place, it really was a testament to what lovely people they are.
